A KLM flight heading to Amsterdam skidded off the runway at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway after making an emergency landing because of hydraulic failure.
The incident occurred Saturday night after the Boeing 737-800 departed from Oslo Airport. The crew redirected the flight to Sandefjord Airport, 110 kilometres south of Oslo. Despite skidding into soft grass next to a taxiway upon landing, all 176 passengers and six crew members were evacuated safely and without injury.

KLM confirmed the incident in a statement, explaining that a loud noise during takeoff prompted the emergency landing. The pilots struggled to control the plane upon touchdown, leading it to slide off the runway, according to a report by NOS. The airline assured that everyone on board was safe and received immediate care while an investigation into the incident was initiated.

The flight left Oslo at 6:55 pm local time and landed at Sandefjord Airport at 7:14 pm. By approximately 9:00 pm, all passengers had been transported to the terminal, as per Dutch media.
This incident followed another aviation accident involving a Boeing 737-800 operated by Jeju Air, which crashed during a landing at Muan International Airport in South Korea from Bangkok. The crash resulted in significant casualties, with only two survivors from the 181 people on board.
