Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchant Association (PFVA) has fixed the kinno export target at 325,000 tonnes for this season and they are  expecting to earn $200 million.

The country fetched $175m last season from the export of 300,000 tonnes of kinno. During this season, the production of the fruit is estimated to reach 1.9m tonnes as compared to 1.8m tonnes last season.

“Exports had already commenced from Dec 1, 2014 and in last one week, around 500 containers carrying 13,000 tonnes had been exported to various countries,” informed PFVA co-chairman Waheed Ahmed.

He said that exporters were eyeing to ship 3,000 containers to Russia this season as compared to 2,600 containers last season.
