A TikTok trend featuring the phrase “Kim Kardashian ruined my life” has caught the attention of many users.
The story revolves around David Liebensohn, who claims to be the creator of Kimoji, Kim Kardashian’s app featuring gifs and emojis of her face.
Liebensohn alleges that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner negotiated with his company in 2013-2014 and reached a verbal agreement to develop the app. However, according to Liebensohn, the trademark was registered without his name.
In 2019, Liebensohn sued Kim Kardashian for $100 million, providing evidence to support his claim that Kimoji was created using concepts stolen from him. Kardashian and her legal team countered the lawsuit, calling it “false and absurd,” and countersued for $300 million, leading Liebensohn to drop the suit.
Kardashian and Jenner then demanded $400,000 in legal fees and financial compensation, which resulted in Liebensohn’s bankruptcy.
The man, now living in his car, allegedly created Kimkardashianruinedmylife.com, detailing his story and asking for donations to help pay his legal debt.
TikTok user Kylazingaround’s video about this situation has become popular, with more users creating videos discussing the matter.
