Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah lashed out at Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for his remarks towards Pakistan People’s Party Senator Chaudhry Aitazaz Ahsan.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had accused Chaudhry Aitazaz Ahsan of being a member of a land mafia group in a statement on Thursday.

Syed Khursheed Shah, addressing the joint session of Parliament in Islamabad on Friday (today), said the Interior Minister has backstabbed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said that the government and opposition have foiled the conspiracy to derail democracy in the country.

The opposition leader added that a senior minister of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has put the opposition in such a situation that there is fire on one side and water on the other.

He further said that the behavior of the Interior Minister was inappropriate in the assembly. He demanded Chaudhry Nisar to apologize to Senator Aitazaz Ahsan in front of the house for his remarks towards him.

Khursheed Shah added that the Parliament has become a wall for defending democracy in the country. He added that the ongoing political situation has brought the government and opposition close to each other.
