Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, could face significant financial and legal consequences after a multi-vehicle crash last month in Dallas. Two victims have filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million in damages following the incident, which has already led to serious legal challenges for Rice.

After the crash, a warrant was issued for Rice’s arrest. He surrendered to authorities and was detained at the Tri-City Jail in DeSoto, Texas, before being released on bond.

Fox 4 Kansas City reports that Rice and SMU cornerback Theodore Knox are being sued in Dallas County by plaintiffs Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy. The lawsuit claims compensation for severe injuries sustained during the accident, including brain trauma, facial lacerations requiring stitches, multiple contusions, disfigurement, internal bleeding, and other potential injuries that may emerge during ongoing medical treatment.

Rice faces serious potential prison time if convicted on multiple charges related to the crash. According to the arrest warrant, he has been charged with six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving severe bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault.

Additionally, Dallas’s WFAA Channel 8 reported that police found 10.8 grams of marijuana in the vehicle Rice was driving, which could lead to a misdemeanour charge punishable by up to 180 days in jail.

The police investigation revealed that Rice exceeded the speed limit during the accident. The affidavit for his arrest warrant noted that he reached speeds up to 119 miles per hour just before the collision. Rice was driving a Lamborghini, accompanied by a Chevrolet Corvette.
