Kayla Jade, a creator on OnlyFans and a TikTok influencer with 2.2 million followers, shared a distressing account of her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure in Turkey during her podcast, “Storytime with Kayla Jade.” The 30-year-old’s experience emphasises the risks associated with undergoing cosmetic surgery overseas.
According to News.com.au, Kayla, who was struggling with body image issues, chose to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in Turkey because of its affordability and positive online reviews. “I heard so many good things,” she said, believing the clinic had a solid reputation. However, communication with the clinic became problematic upon her arrival due to a language barrier. Although her doctor cautioned her that she might not achieve the results she hoped for, she chose to proceed with the procedure, remaining hopeful for a better outcome.
The surgery was a nightmare. Kayla felt “everything” on the operating table despite being paralysed by anaesthesia, describing tears streaming down her face. Post-surgery, she endured “immense pain” and vomited blood. Recovery was equally dire; she awoke on her back, violating BBL protocol, which staff dismissed as “fine.” Per the Daily Mail, this compromised the fat transfer, leading to poor results.
A year later, dissatisfied with “chunks” removed from her back, Kayla underwent a revision in Australia. Her Australian doctor criticised the Turkish clinic’s post-op care, calling it “crazy.” Despite the trauma, Kayla considers herself “lucky” to have survived, noting BBL’s high risks due to arterial placement. X users echoed her warnings, with one stating, “Turkey BBLs are a gamble with your life.”
Kayla’s story raises awareness about the dangers of cosmetic surgery tourism, urging caution against trusting online reviews.
