Pakistan will observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 to express support for the Kashmiri people and pay tribute to their long-standing struggle and sacrifices. A nationwide public holiday will be observed to mark the occasion.
Across the country, rallies, walks, seminars, and special prayer gatherings will take place to demonstrate solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Human chains will also be formed at various locations to symbolise unity and collective resolve.
The government has instructed state institutions and the media to highlight the Kashmir issue effectively and raise awareness at both national and international levels. Officials say the focus will remain on drawing attention to the humanitarian situation and the right of Kashmiris to self-determination.
Television and radio channels will air special programmes outlining the historical background of the Kashmir dispute and its current situation. These broadcasts aim to inform younger generations and keep the issue prominent in public discourse.
Strict security arrangements are expected in major cities to ensure peaceful observance of the day. Law enforcement agencies will remain on high alert during rallies and public gatherings to maintain order.
Political and religious leaders are also expected to address various events. They will reiterate Pakistan’s position that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in line with resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council, reaffirming support for a just and lasting solution.
