Islamabad:  Former Army Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (Rtd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was kept in the dark while carrying out the Kargil Operation in 1999.

According to Former federal minister Lt General (retd) Abdul Majeed Malik in his book ‘Ham Bhi Wahan Mojod Thay’, claimed that during the Kargil  Operation, General Kayani  who was heading 12 Division that was responsible to guard Kashmir, but the former military ruler General Musharraf did not keep Kayani in the  confidence.

Malik also claimed that former military ruler  was solely responsible for the operation and he did not even brief the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif about Kargil Operation.
