Karan Johar expressed disappointment over failing to secure tickets for next year’s highly anticipated Coldplay concert in Mumbai.
Despite his status in Bollywood, Johar shared on Instagram that even he couldn’t obtain tickets, humorously noting, “Dear privilege, I love that Coldplay and the mini Kelly always keep you grounded… you can’t get everything you want, my darling… Lots of love… Frugal.”
Coldplay’s upcoming performances in Mumbai, scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21 at the DY Patil Sports Stadium, saw tickets sell out quickly after going live on BookMyShow last Sunday. The rush to purchase tickets left many fans, including Johar, unable to attend.
Further complicating matters, reports of tickets being resold at significant markups on unauthorized platforms have been reported.
In response, BookMyShow issued a warning on Instagram advising fans against purchasing from these sites, stating, “It has come to our attention that unauthorized platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India, both before and after the official sale. These tickets are invalid… Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law. Please don’t fall prey to this because you will buy fake tickets. Avoid scams! BookMyShow is the only official platform for ticket sales.”
In his professional life, Johar’s recent production, “Call Me Bae,” featuring Ananya Panday, was just released on Prime Video. The series follows the life of the character Bae after her separation from her husband. Looking ahead, Johar is set to release “Jigra,” starring Alia Bhatt, produced under his Dharma Productions in collaboration with Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is scheduled for release on October 11.
