Earlier today in the Altaf Nagar area of Orangi Town, police shot and killed suspected target killer Obaid-ur-Rehman as he attempted to escape custody.
According to police reports, the suspect managed to snatch a service weapon from an officer and opened fire, injuring a constable in the process. In response, police returned fire, resulting in his death.
Obaid-ur-Rehman had been presented to the media yesterday by DIG West Tahir Naveed. He had confessed to killing 22 individuals, including four doctors and eight police constables. Police are currently conducting raids in multiple areas across Karachi to apprehend his accomplices and further dismantle the criminal network.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb violent crime in the city and bring high-profile suspects to justice.
