A mob lynched one suspect and injured another after a failed robbery attempt in Orangi Town, Karachi, on Saturday evening.
Pakistan Bazaar Station House Officer (SHO) Riaz Ahmed Bhutto told a daily Newspaper “Dawn News” that two suspects stole Rs20,000 from a business in Orangi Town Sector 11’s Islam Chowk, a mob had gathered outside the store during the crime. “
One suspect attempted to flee on a motorcycle after opening fire, and the mob captured the 2nd suspect and severely beaten,” the SHO reported.
Bhutto said that the fleeing suspect was captured and beaten by the mob.
The SHO reported that both injured suspects had been transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where one, identified as Ahmed, 30, was proclaimed dead upon arrival, and Zubair Rauf, 22, was taken for treatment.
Bhutto stated that police retrieved a pistol and a motorcycle from the suspects, adding that the motorcycle was “just stolen from Gulshan-i-Iqbal.”
In recent crime statistics, there has been an increase in street crimes in Karachi.
