The Meteorological Department warned on Thursday that Karachi and much of Sindh will endure hot and dry weather through the weekend.
Temperatures in Karachi are expected to reach 40°C, with humidity peaking at 87%. This sticky heat, anticipated to persist through Friday and rise further by Saturday, is testing residents’ comfort levels.
The forecast predicts dry conditions across most Sindh districts on Thursday, though gusty, dust-raising winds may sweep upper areas by afternoon. Friday brings more of the same—scorching heat province-wide. Cities like Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, and Thatta face 40°C to 43°C highs, while Mithi, at 66% humidity, could hit 42°C.

The Met Department noted that a westerly wave trough over western Pakistan might stir upper regions within 24 hours. Thursday’s outlook shows dry weather nationwide, but isolated rain or thunderstorms could strike Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Potohar. Punjab and Sindh may see gusty winds. Friday mirrors this: heat in the plains, possible showers up north.
The last day brought light rain to spots like Cherat (3mm), Dera Ismail Khan (1mm), and Rawalpindi (trace), but most areas stayed dry. Authorities urge caution—stay indoors during peak heat, hydrate well, and brace for the ongoing spell.
