The Karachi thunderstorm rain forecast has been issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) as a westerly wave approaches the western parts of the country. According to the Met Office, the city is likely to witness thunderstorms with light to moderate rain tomorrow.
The department also warned of strong winds accompanying the system. In addition, temperatures in Karachi may rise on Saturday and Sunday, with mercury expected to remain at or above 34°C.
During the holy month of Ramadan, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain moderate, with temperatures hovering around 30°C.
Karachi Thunderstorm Rain Forecast
The PMD said showers are expected in Dadu, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur and across the Karachi Division during the evening and night, continuing into Tuesday.
Earlier, the department indicated that a shallow westerly weather system could bring rain, gusty winds and dust storms to parts of Sindh.
In northern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan, and Punjab’s Dera Ghazi Khan, possible hailstorms may occur during the forecast period.
Light to moderate rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms are expected across much of Balochistan. Cities likely to be affected include Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chaghi, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Mastung, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Gwadar, Awaran, Kharan, Pasni, Ormara and Lasbela from the evening and night of February 16 through February 17, with occasional breaks.

Meanwhile, isolated light rain or drizzle with strong winds may also occur in southern Punjab, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah and Bahawalpur on February 17.
Residents are advised to stay up to date on official weather bulletins, particularly in areas where gusty winds or hail are forecast.
