In Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal neighbourhood, a tea stall owner, Dawlat Agha Shah, foiled a robbery attempt, demonstrating the power of quick thinking and bravery. The incident, captured on CCTV and widely shared on social media, shows Shah confronting armed assailants at his Quetta Tea Hotel in Block 6, thereby preventing any harm or theft.
The footage reveals three armed individuals advancing towards the establishment with malicious intent. Upon their brandishing of weapons, Shah, maintaining composure, retrieved his licensed firearm and retaliated, successfully driving the assailants away without any casualties or losses.
This act of valour occurred within the jurisdiction of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station on February 24, showcasing Shah’s courageous response.
The police, during a routine patrol on the day of the incident, apprehended one suspect, Asif, while his accomplices fled. A formal complaint was lodged against the individuals involved at the local police station.
Shah, in a subsequent video statement, recounted the events of that morning. At the cash register, he noticed the robbers drawing their weapons. His defensive actions prompted the robbers to plead for their lives. Shah commanded them to leave, averting a potential crime with his decisive and brave actions.
