Karachi ranks sixth in ‘The Worldwide Cost of Living (WCOL) index 2022.’

According to the EIU, inflation in the world’s biggest cities rose 8.1% last year, the highest in 20 years.

Damascus, Syria, is the most affordable city in the world, followed by Tripoli, Libya; Tehran, Tunis, Tashkent, and Karachi, Pakistan (Pakistan).

According to the EIU report, the crisis in Ukraine, Western sanctions on Russia, and China’s zero-covid policies have caused supply chain challenges. In contrast, historical interest rate hikes have boosted the international cost of living.

Singapore topped the list for the eighth time in 10 years, followed by New York, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Zurich.
