The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast rainfall in Karachi as a weak westerly wave system is expected to enter the country from January 16.
According to the Met Office, the weather system may bring rain with thunderstorms to Karachi and several other districts of Sindh.
The department said rainfall is likely on January 22 and 23, with dry intervals between showers.
Meanwhile, Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider Leghari said foggy conditions are expected to continue in the city on Friday. He warned that the fog could turn into smog during daytime hours as visibility drops and air quality worsens.
