The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in Karachi on Thursday afternoon, followed by a noticeable drop in temperatures from Friday.
Weather officials said a westerly system, strengthened by moisture from the Arabian Sea, is moving across the region and is likely to influence conditions in Sindh over the next two days.
The Met Office earlier predicted rainfall on January 22 and 23 in several Sindh districts, including Hyderabad, Dadu, Jacobabad, Naushehro Feroz, Kashmore, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Ghotki, as well as Karachi.
A private weather website has also forecast a 60 to 66 per cent chance of rain in Karachi between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Thursday.

Temperatures to fall from Friday
Deputy Director of the Met Department Anjum Nazir Zaigham said the weather system is expected to enter Sindh from Thursday, bringing rainfall mainly to western districts.
He added that temperatures in Karachi are likely to fall sharply from Friday. Minimum temperatures in the city could drop into the single digits, intensifying the feeling of cold.
Cold and fast-moving winds from Quetta are also expected to reach Karachi from Friday. Wind speeds may range between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour, further intensifying the chilly conditions.
