On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Karachi faced severe traffic and law-and-order challenges as protests erupted over water and power infrastructure delays. Authorities warn of rising public unrest, with a water crisis expected to persist until Friday due to BRT construction near University Road’s old Sabzi Mandi.
Residents blocked both lanes of major roads, stranding commuters and prompting Karachi Traffic Police (KTP) to reroute traffic. Affected areas included Teen Hatti, Guru Mandir, Lyari, and Korangi, with slow-moving alternate routes like Numaish Chowrangi and Jamshed Road. KTP reported 190 protests in two months, averaging two to three daily.
