Karachi residents can now apply for and receive arms licenses and airport entry passes online through a new verification application.
Inspector-General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon launched this innovative app during his visit to the Special Branch Sindh. It enhances citizens’ convenience by enabling them to complete these processes from home.
During a briefing, the DIG Special Branch detailed the department’s recent successes, including a significant reduction in street crimes over the past year. This achievement stems from robust intelligence efforts that have curtailed organized crime and smuggling. These efforts led to the arrest of several scrap dealers engaged in illegal activities.
IG Sindh emphasized the critical role of establishing a digital data bank to combat criminals effectively and called for restructuring the department to align with contemporary needs. This approach ensures that the Special Branch continues leading in Sindh’s crime prevention.
The launch of this app is part of a broader initiative to streamline procedures and enhance public accessibility. It demonstrates the Sindh Police’s dedication to using technology to improve service delivery.
