Karachi police have located the body of Mustafa Amir along with a burned car in Hub. DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider revealed that the investigation led to the discovery that suspect Armughan murdered Mustafa Amir, then moved his body to Hub and set his car on fire to eliminate evidence.
Authorities retrieved blood-stained carpets from Armughan’s residence, which matched the DNA samples from the victim’s body. Mustafa Amir had been missing since January 6, prompting a kidnapping investigation.
The main suspect, Armughan, was arrested in Karachi’s Defence area. He was allegedly involved in cryptocurrency and illicit activities.
The police detailed that Amir was lured to Armughan’s home, where an altercation led to Amir’s murder. During a search of the suspect’s property, police confiscated 64 laptops and a mobile phone and arrested two of Armughan’s employees.
Investigators also seized over Rs. 5 million from Armughan, believed to be accrued through unlawful activities. The origins of this money and Armughan’s income sources are under scrutiny.
Efforts to further unravel the case continue, with DNA samples from Amir’s family being compared to those from the body found in the car. The body, severely burned and unrecognizable, has been moved to a cold storage facility for further forensic examination.
