Karachi feels the chill as temperatures at Jinnah Terminal plummeted to single digits last night, marking a noticeable drop to 9.1°C.
According to Wednesday’s meteorological data from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). This decline highlights a colder trend observed on Tuesday night across the city.
The lowest night-time temperature in Karachi dipped to 11.3°C over the last 24 hours. Area-specific measurements from the Met Office reveal variations across the city: 10°C in Gulistan-e-Johar, 12°C along Sharea Faisal, 12.5°C in Mauripur, and 12.2°C in Bin Qasim. Typically, the average December temperature in Karachi hovers around 13.4°C.
Karachi Weather Forecast and Humidity Levels
Karachi will stay dry and cool overnight over the next 24 hours, possibly dropping to 10°C. The current humidity is 48%, accompanied by northeast winds travelling 10km/h.

The cold wave will continue in Tharparkar, with night-time temperatures anticipated to drop as low as 2°C in southeastern Sindh. In upper and central Sindh, the mercury will likely hover between 6°C and 7°C.
Meanwhile, Quetta and its surrounding areas are undergoing a severe cold spell, with today’s minimum temperatures hitting -4°C in Quetta and -6°C in Kalat. The weather will remain clear but extremely cold across the provincial capital of Balochistan, its northern areas, and several districts, significantly impacting mountainous regions.
Quetta, Kalat, and Ziarat residents face significant challenges due to low gas pressure, complicating the situation as consumers struggle with freezing temperatures.
