Karachi’s Board of Intermediate Education (BIEK) will begin the 2025 annual intermediate examinations on May 5, with over 126,500 students participating in the science and home economics groups. The exams will continue until May 29, and we will implement strict measures to ensure fairness. Additionally, health and safety protocols will be in place to address the expected heatwave.
The first phase of exams will see more than 92,000 students from pre-medical, pre-engineering, and Home Economics groups attend morning sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Over 34,500 General Science students will take evening sessions from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. BIEK has set up 182 exam centres citywide, with 122 for morning and 60 for evening shifts, including 36 flagged as highly sensitive.
BIEK Chairman Prof. Ghulam Hussain Sohoo confirmed that the board had finalised all arrangements for transparent exams. Two central monitoring cells at the Karachi Commissioner’s Office and BIEK will oversee operations to curb cheating. Complaint cells in each district’s Deputy Commissioner’s office, staffed by board representatives, will address issues promptly.

Karachi’s 2025 intermediate exams, starting May 5, promise a well-organised process focused on fairness and student well-being. As BIEK implements comprehensive measures, the city’s youth prepare to take a significant step in their academic journey, supported by a robust examination framework.
