On August 13, 2025, Karachi’s traffic police announced a special plan for a musical night at the National Stadium to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and the “Marka-e-Haq” victory.
Vehicles displaying special stickers will be permitted to enter through Gates 1 and 11. Parking will be available at the Expo Centre and China Ground, with shuttle services provided. Heavy traffic is expected on National Stadium Road and Sir Shah Suleman Road, so alternate routes are recommended.
Buses, minibuses, and heavy vehicles will be diverted, and all heavy traffic is banned from the area. Citizens are urged to avoid parking on service roads and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event. The plan aims to minimise disruptions while accommodating the festive crowd.
“Marka-e-Haq,” meaning “Battle for Justice,” refers to a four-day military operation (May 7–10, 2025), known as Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, launched in response to India’s alleged strikes on Pakistani civilians following a Pahalgam incident on April 22. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported 40 civilian deaths. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared May 10 as “Marka-e-Haq Day” to honour the armed forces’ resilience.
The musical night celebrates Pakistan’s sovereignty and the strategic success of Marka-e-Haq, boosting national pride. It follows the government’s Shuhada package for martyrs, reflecting a commitment to honour sacrifices. The event underscores unity and resilience amid recent regional tensions, drawing thousands to Karachi’s National Stadium.
