Karachi traffic authorities are clamping down on motorcycle safety, enforcing a new Karachi helmet law across three major roads starting March 4, 2025.
DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah announced that riders without helmets will be banned from Metropole to Clifton Bridge, PIDC to Saudi Consulate, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
“We’re making these three roads model routes,” Shah declared. Riders without helmets can’t enter.” The move tackles a surge in motorcycle accidents, with police eyeing safer streets. During Ramadan, expect an awareness blitz to hammer home the importance of helmets. Post-Ramadan, violators will face hefty fines and strict enforcement.
Authorities are rolling out modern locking systems to enforce the Karachi helmet law. Each section officer will receive 50 high-tech locks. Park your bike, and it stays locked until you show a helmet. “Riders unlock their motorcycles only after wearing helmets,” Shah explained. This tech twist aims to make compliance a no-brainer.
