Karachi is preparing for a severe heatwave on Thursday. The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts temperatures to exceed 41 degrees Celsius. With humidity levels reaching up to 65%, the heat will feel even more oppressive, presenting challenges for residents.
On Wednesday, the city recorded a high of 37.1°C, but with 68% humidity, it felt like 42°C. Weak sea breezes and scorching midday winds intensified the extreme heat in Karachi, creating uncomfortable conditions.
The Pakistan weather forecast highlights a combination of soaring temperatures, elevated humidity, and insufficient wind relief. A Meteorological Department spokesperson noted that sea breezes have been too weak to cool the city. Thursday’s forecast predicts stronger winds, but the weather will remain hot and dry, as the Early Warning Centre reported.
Sindh Weather Outlook
While Karachi swelters, light rain is expected in Sindh districts, including Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Tharparkar. However, most of the province will face hot to very hot conditions with strong winds, amplifying the Sindh heatwave.
To cope with the high humidity forecast in Karachi, residents should stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and use cooling measures. The Meteorological Department urges checking updates for real-time alerts.
