The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) projects temperatures to reach 39°C on Sunday in Karachi.
Residents of Karachi are preparing for another very hot day. Sea breezes will be blocked throughout the day, resulting in intense sunlight and hot, dry winds that will increase the heat. However, there may be some relief in the evening, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) expects cooler sea breezes to return, providing some comfort after this oppressive heat.
The Met Office reported that Karachi’s low overnight dipped to 25.7°C, with humidity at 64%. The sticky air and soaring daytime highs promise discomfort for those outdoors. Beyond Karachi, hot and dry weather dominates most of Pakistan over the next 12 hours.

Morning temperatures in various locations were as follows: Islamabad and Muzaffarabad recorded 14°C, Lahore reached 22°C, Peshawar was at 18°C, Quetta noted 15°C, Gilgit reported a cooler 10°C, and Murree experienced a chilly 9°C. In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, dry conditions prevail. Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramulla recorded temperatures of 8°C, Jammu reached 17°C, and Leh experienced a cold -2°C.
The heatwave is challenging the endurance of Karachi residents. Temperatures peak at 39°C, with no breeze to provide relief. Staying hydrated and avoiding the midday sun is essential during this time. Dry winds are sweeping across the plains, and while the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s evening forecast brings some hope, for now, it remains a difficult and hot situation.
