Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has unveiled new routes for Karachi’s People’s Bus Service, marking a significant expansion in the city’s public transport system.
Minister Memon presided over a meeting on enhancing Karachi’s transportation infrastructure, attended by elected MPAs, the deputy mayor, and other key officials.
The expansion plan includes introducing new bus lines in several critical areas of Karachi, including Malir, Kemari, Lyari, and the district West.
Minister Memon reiterated the government’s dedication to improving the public transport network in Karachi, aiming to provide better service and convenience to the city’s residents.

During the last meeting of the transport department, Minister Memon received comprehensive updates on ongoing projects, including the construction of various Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, updates to traffic signals, and the reconstruction of bus terminals. Plans for a new U-turn specifically for the People’s Bus Service were also discussed.
In addition to the developments in Karachi, a parking plaza was proposed to be constructed in Hyderabad to alleviate traffic congestion in its central areas. The minister was informed about completing eight bus terminals, slated to become operational by June, marking significant progress in bolstering the region’s transport infrastructure.
