The Karachi DHA delivery rider accident claimed the life of a food delivery worker after a speeding car rammed into his motorcycle in Khayaban-e-Ittehad, Defence Housing Authority (DHA), police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on February 22. According to police, the car was allegedly being driven at high speed when it swerved to avoid another motorcycle. The vehicle lost control, hit the footpath, overturned and crashed into the rider. The motorcyclist died on the spot.
CCTV footage of the Karachi DHA delivery rider accident shows the rider leaving a house after completing a delivery. Moments later, a car approaching from the opposite direction veered off course and struck him.

Police confirmed that the body was later taken to Thatta by the victim’s family, where he was laid to rest.
Officials said the driver was initially taken into custody for questioning. However, he was later released after the victim’s family submitted a written statement declaring that they did not wish to pursue legal action and had forgiven the driver.
The car involved reportedly carried a government number plate along with a judicial monogram plate.
Police stated that no case has been registered, as the family refused to file a complaint. However, authorities added that the driver remains part of the investigation record and may be summoned again if necessary. A case could still be registered in the future if a complainant comes forward. The incident has renewed concerns about speeding and road safety in Karachi’s residential areas.
