Karachi: A respect-hungry police officer Tuesday shot and injured a junior only because he refused or maybe forgot to greet him with a foot-stomping salute upon his arrival here in Orangi Town.
“Deputy Superintendent of Police, Javaid Afridi, taking it as an insult, pulled out his official sidearm, and put a slug in Assistant Sub-inspector of Police Shaukatullah’s leg in Pakistan Bazar police station,”.
Ironically, instead of the officer who abused his authority, a case was in the making against the wounded cop.
“Shaukatullah is under treatment in the hospital right now. He may be charged with insulting or attacking a superior as the Stationhouse Officer of the relevant police station has jumped into action to save the aggressor DSP,” an official told local media on the basis of anonymity.
