In Karachi’s Defense Phase 2 Extension, a business dispute turned fatal when Khan Shafi, a car showroom owner, shot and killed his partner Kamal Siddiqui before attempting suicide.

Currently, Shafi is in critical condition at Jinnah Hospital, receiving treatment for his self-inflicted injuries.

The police report states that the conflict stemmed from a disagreement over more than Rs10 million. CCTV footage captured Shafi slapping Siddiqui while seated on a sofa. When showroom employees intervened, Shafi opened fire, killing Siddiqui instantly.

The incident escalated Thursday evening as 50-year-old Shafi and 65-year-old Siddiqui argued heatedly. Shafi fired three bullets at Siddiqui, resulting in his immediate death. Subsequently, Shafi shot himself twice in a suicide attempt.

Neighbours described Siddiqui as a respectable and virtuous individual. His body was transported to the hospital from his Nazimabad residence.

Authorities have secured the murder weapon and are conducting further investigations.
