Kara Monaco’s swift transition from Disney princess to Playmate of the Year illustrates life’s unpredictability.
Disney blacklisted her following her 2006 Playmate achievement, a decision she accepted without looking back. Playboy Magazine’s opportunity led her to global travel and appearances on shows like ‘The Girls Next Door’, ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, and ‘Big Brother’.
At 40, Kara shared her story on the ‘Girls Next Level’ podcast. Her career began at Disney World in Orlando, where she portrayed a princess. After four years, she pursued modelling and supported herself as a waitress.
A friend, aspiring to be in Playboy, unknowingly submitted Kara’s photos for the ‘America’s Sexiest Bartender’ contest in 2004. Kara won and soon became an official Playmate. Despite her conservative nature, she became Playmate of the Month in June 2005 and Playmate of the Year in 2006, surprising her family but receiving their support.
Disney’s disapproval led to Kara’s blacklisting, a fact she acknowledged with indifference. As a mother and event planner in Florida, she retains her title as Playmate of the Year 2006.
