Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is currently selling shirts featuring a Hakenkreuz (incorrectly referred to as a Swastika) on a website he promoted during the Super Bowl.
The Hakenkreuz, a symbol adopted by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party in 1920, appears on a shirt priced at $20 on yeezy.com, listed as product HH-01 and is the sole item available. Shopify is reportedly handling the order processing.
The shirt’s launch coincides with West’s recent declaration on X (formerly Twitter) where he claimed to be a “Nazi” who loved Adolf Hitler. He promoted this shirt in a Super Bowl ad broadcast exclusively in the Los Angeles market, showing him seated in a dentist’s chair.
In the ad, West comments, “I spent, like, all the money for the commercial on these new teeth,” showing his jewel-encrusted teeth. “Once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um…Um….Go to Yeezy.com.”
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a leading anti-hate organization, has strongly criticized West’s actions. The ADL stated, “As if we needed further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website—a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika. The swastika is the symbol adopted by Hitler as the primary emblem of the Nazis. It galvanized his followers in the 20th century and continues to threaten and instil fear in those targeted by antisemitism and white supremacy.”
West first faced accusations of antisemitism in 2022 after making a series of racist remarks but seemed to recover ground following an apology. “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. I did not intend to hurt or demean, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” he stated.
These remarks previously led to West losing partnerships with Adidas and Gap for Yeezy products and facing restrictions on his social media accounts.
