K-Electric (KE), serving 3.8 million customers in Karachi and surrounding areas, announced a redesigned electricity bill layout on August 5, 2025, aimed at improving transparency and user experience.
The KE new bill consolidates current and past consumption, payment details, and account updates without altering tariffs, as confirmed by KE, aligning with the Government of Pakistan’s July 2025 notification.
The revamped bill includes:
- A front-page summary detailing billing information, energy charges, and applicable taxes.
- A message board for tariff and taxation updates as mandated by the government.
- Consolidated customer details, such as load information and account numbers.
- Back-page updates on net metering, smart meters, and service notices.
This streamlined design reduces paper usage by eliminating additional pages, supporting KE’s eco-friendly initiatives. Since 2022, KE has seen a 60% increase in e-bill subscriptions from June 2024 to June 2025, reflecting its digital transformation strategy.
Noor Afshan, KE’s Senior Director and Head of Marketing & Customer Experience, stated, “The new electricity bill layout is a direct result of customer feedback and our mission to empower users with clarity and convenience.” The design caters to diverse customer segments, enhancing accessibility and understanding.
