The heir apparent of Jordan, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, exchanged vows with his fiancée Rajwa Alseif, a Saudi architect, in a glamorous ceremony witnessed by global dignitaries and royalty at Zahran Palace in Amman, Jordan. The attendees of the grand event included the Prince and Princess of Wales from Britain and the First Lady of the US, Jill Biden.
At 28 years old, Crown Prince Hussein and Rajwa Alseif, 29, solidified their union in front of nearly 140 guests. Alseif, an alumna of Syracuse University in New York, will carry the title of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess of Jordan, eventually evolving into Queen Rajwa upon the Crown Prince’s ascension to the throne.
Rajwa Alseif is connected to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) through her mother, a member of the renowned Al-Sudairi family. As reported, King Salman of Saudi Arabia, also a “Sudairi Seven” descendent, is closely related to Alseif.
The celebrations began early in the morning as Jordan’s King and Queen welcomed guests at Zahran Palace. Jordan’s military band provided musical entertainment for the attendees as they arrived to express their good wishes to the royal family.
The celebration then proceeded to a gazebo in the palace garden, where the marriage contract was signed, and rings were exchanged during a ceremony known as “Katb Al-Kitab.”
Saudi Arabia and Jordan’s relationship has recently improved following a period of strain. During his visit to Jordan last year, MBS expressed his eagerness to elevate the relationship with Jordan to a new level.
