The Pakistan Airports Authority has initiated a significant infrastructure modernization project at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. The development includes constructing a new Air Traffic Control Tower and Rescue and Fire Fighting Station to enhance operational safety.
This infrastructure initiative aims to strengthen air traffic management capabilities and improve emergency response systems at Pakistan’s busiest airport. According to official statements, the design phase will complete within six months, followed by a 24-month construction period.
After evaluating multiple potential locations, authorities have finalized sites for both facilities that comply with international safety standards and accommodate future airport expansion requirements.

A four-day inception workshop recently convened at the airport, gathering international aviation specialists and local professionals to refine project specifications and review technical parameters.
