Jane Marriott has been named as the forthcoming British High Commissioner to Pakistan.
She expressed that the deep-seated heritage, robust interpersonal ties, climate cooperation, and burgeoning trade relations serve as bonds connecting Great Britain and Pakistan. In a tweet, she noted the promise of “Dosti” and Commonwealth connections in securing a prosperous future and ended with, “Aap se jald mulaqat hogi,” indicating a meeting soon.

The statement further clarified that Ms. Marriott is set to assume her new role in July 2023.
Previously, she has held the position of British High Commissioner to Nairobi since 2019. Her extensive diplomatic experience includes her role as the National Security Council’s Deputy Director for the Americas, Middle East, and Africa, along with various roles in Afghanistan and Iraq. The newly appointed British High Commissioner has also held several positions within the Cabinet Office and Home Office.
