Police invoked provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act and included charges of rioting, violence, interference in government duty, and violation of Section 144.
According to the FIR, officials nominated 30 individuals, including leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami. The report stated that around 300 to 325 party activists participated in the sit-in.

The situation intensified when protesters attempted to remove barricades and move toward the Assembly building. Police pushed the crowd back before launching baton charges and firing tear gas shells to disperse the gathering.
Arrests and Clashes Near Sindh Assembly
Police confirmed the arrest of at least 10 activists during the confrontation. Authorities also seized the party’s sound system truck and later transferred it to the police station.
Clashes broke out as protesters and police personnel exchanged stones. Both sides reportedly sustained injuries during the confrontation.

Media personnel covering the protest faced disruption due to the intensity of the tear gas shelling. Video footage circulating on social platforms showed a heavy police presence in the red zone.
The Anti-Terrorism Act charges indicate how seriously authorities view the incident. Section 144, which restricts public gatherings in designated areas, formed a key part of the case.
