On March 11, 2025, terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Bolan Pass, seizing passengers inside Tunnel No 8.
Security sources say the assailants, linked to Afghan handlers via satellite phone, held hostages, including women and children. Forces swiftly rescued 104 people, 58 men, 31 women, and 15 kids, while eliminating 16 terrorists. Seventeen injured passengers now receive hospital care as operations press on.
The terrain’s challenges and human shields complicate the rescue, but security teams have cornered the attackers. “The operation won’t stop until every terrorist is neutralized,” sources vow. Extra forces bolstered the effort, with 17 injured being transferred for treatment.

According to spokesperson Shahid Rind, the Balochistan government declared a hospital emergency in Sibi and dispatched ambulances and backup trains despite access hurdles.
Sources slam the terrorists’ “cowardly” acts, unrelated to Islam or Balochistan’s cause. Meanwhile, Indian and anti-state social media spread fake news, old videos, AI content, and misleading posts—to incite panic. Security urges reliance on verified updates.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, wishing the injured a speedy recovery as forces aim to end the standoff.
