JAC J5 Hybrid SUV arrives in Pakistan, offering premium tech, strong fuel economy, and competitive pricing in the hybrid SUV segment.
Responding to Pakistan’s growing demand for fuel-efficient and technology-driven vehicles, JAC Motors, in partnership with the Nishat Group, has officially launched the JAC J5 Hybrid SUV. Marketed as the country’s most affordable hybrid SUV, the J5 aims to narrow the long-standing price gap between sedans and SUVs. Additionally, it delivers modern technology, improved fuel efficiency, and a premium driving experience.
The JAC J5 is a self-charging hybrid SUV powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.83 kWh battery. JAC refers to this setup as its Super Hybrid System, developed in collaboration with Chery. The combined output is 221 horsepower and 295 Nm of torque, offering strong performance for both urban and highway use. The company claims an average fuel economy of around 18 kilometres per litre. With a 51-litre fuel tank, the SUV delivers a driving range of up to 950 kilometres. Therefore, it is well-suited for long-distance travel.
In terms of design, the JAC J5 presents a bold and contemporary look. The front features a waterfall-style grille, LED headlights, and hidden door handles, giving it a clean, modern appearance. Riding on 18-inch alloy wheels with roof rails, the SUV carries a confident road presence often associated with higher-priced rivals. Instead of a traditional spare wheel, the vehicle comes equipped with a tyre repair kit to maximise space efficiency.
Inside the cabin, the J5 adopts a dual-tone grey interior with soft-touch materials and carbon-fibre-style accents. The centrepiece is a large 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that manages driving modes, hybrid energy flow, and vehicle settings. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard. Meanwhile, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster provides clear driving information. Ambient lighting with 36 colour options enhances the cabin’s premium feel. In addition, the higher variant adds a powered tailgate along with 60:40 split rear seats for added practicality.
Safety is a major focus for the JAC J5 and sets it apart in its segment. The SUV comes equipped with six airbags, a comprehensive 540-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, and advanced driver assistance features. These include front collision warning with emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver fatigue monitoring system. Together, these features aim to deliver a secure and confidence-inspiring driving experience.
The JAC J5 Hybrid SUV is available in two variants. The JAC J5 Comfort is priced at PKR 66.99 lakh, while the JAC J5 Premium is priced at PKR 76.99 lakh. These introductory prices are valid until March 10, 2026. The company has also announced bank financing options, with monthly instalments starting from approximately PKR 106,542. This makes the SUV more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
Industry observers see the JAC J5 as a strong choice for customers moving from sedans to SUVs who want to maintain fuel efficiency and modern features. With its competitive pricing and comprehensive feature set, the JAC J5 aims to disrupt Pakistan’s rapidly growing hybrid vehicle market
Bookings for the all-new JAC J5 Hybrid SUV are now open at authorised dealerships across Pakistan.
