Israel has released footage showcasing the rescue of three hostages, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv, by the Israeli Military. The operation, conducted during daylight, involved a complex manoeuvre in Gaza.
The video highlights the moment the elite Yamam unit entered the apartment in Gaza where Hamas held the hostages. It captures the subsequent extraction of Shlomi Ziv, Almog Meir Jan, and Andrey Kozlov.
Another segment of the footage shows the hostages boarding a helicopter, marking their departure from Gaza. The text in the video confirmed their airlift.
The hostages, including Noa Argamani, were initially abducted from the Nova music festival on October 7, during an assault by Hamas. While Noa Argamani was rescued separately, the other three were liberated from another apartment.
The IDF described the “Seeds of Summer” operation as a high-risk, precisely executed mission based on detailed intelligence, planned over several weeks.
This rescue comes amidst ongoing conflict initiated by a Hamas attack on October 7, which is noted as the deadliest in Gaza’s history. The assault resulted in 1,189 Israeli fatalities and 252 hostages. In response, Israel’s military actions have led to over 36,801 deaths in Gaza, predominantly among civilians.
