An Indian army general who made a statement about “taking back” Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from Pakistan was criticized by the Pakistani military.
Earlier this week, Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi of India’s Northern Army declared that the Indian Army is prepared to carry out instructions like retaking AJK, according to NDTV.
“In terms of the Indian Army, it will obey any directives issued by the Indian government. So we’ll always be prepared for such orders when they come, “Lt Gen Dwivedi remarked.
He didn’t stop there; he also accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement in which they said that the unjustified statement made by a senior Indian military commander on AJK was a perfect example of the “delusional attitude” of the Indian armed forces.
The statement demonstrates the clear influence of domestic political showboating on the Indian armed forces’ mentality, according to the military’s media wing.
It was also stated that the army officer’s erroneous comments and baseless accusations of alleged “launch-pads” and “terrorists” were an attempt to deflect attention from the actions of the Indian Army in AJK.
“The statement was an attempt to deflect attention from the Indian army’s repressive use of force and gross human rights violations against innocent unarmed Kashmiris fighting for their right to self-determination, upheld by international law and enshrined in UN Security Council Resolutions,” according to the statement.
The ISPR added that the Pakistani military is a force for good and a supporter of regional peace and stability. The lofty boasts an absurd ambition of the Indian general officer is intellectually offensive.
“But this desire for peace is matched by our ability and readiness to thwart any misadventure or attack against our land, a claim well verified on multiple occasions, including most recently in the Balakot affair,” the statement continued.
The Indian military would do well to refrain from reckless hyperbole and caustic communication to support the regressive ideology of their political masters in the interest of regional peace, the ISPR continued.
