Inspector General Ali Nasir Rizvi of Islamabad announced on September 25, 2025, that the deadline for obtaining an Islamabad driving license has been extended from October 1 to October 7. This gives residents one extra week to comply.
IG Rizvi warned that after October 7, unlicensed drivers will face serious consequences. Their vehicles could be confiscated, and they may face legal action or arrest. “This initiative will improve traffic discipline and reduce accidents,” he said, urging prompt action regarding the Islamabad driving license.
To help citizens, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) opened more license counters and launched online services. These changes make the application process for the Islamabad driving license faster and easier.
