A leaked dummy unit of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has surfaced, providing a sneak peek at Apple’s new color option, Desert Titanium, which may feature a brown finish rather than the previously rumored golden tint.
The iPhone 16 series, featuring the iPhone 16 Pro Max, is set to debut at an Apple event on September 9. This model will lead the lineup, boasting the largest display and battery capacity.
In a recent YouTube video by TechBoiler, viewers received a brief look at what is purportedly the iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy unit in the new Desert Titanium colourway. Contrary to earlier leaks suggesting a gold tint, this unit has a brown finish, complemented by a matte texture on the back panel and a chrome finish along the side rails.
The dummy unit also reveals design elements expected in the new model, including standard volume, power, and action buttons, along with a new button likely dedicated to camera functionality, termed a ‘capture’ button. This aligns with rumours that Apple’s flagship models will include such a feature this year. The rear of the device maintains the established triple camera array with an LED flash.

The anticipated specifications for the iPhone 16 Pro Max include a larger 6.9-inch display, reportedly featuring the thinnest bezels in the industry. Apple will likely equip the device with the A18 Pro chipset, which enables support for Apple Intelligence—a comprehensive suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s camera system will include an upgraded 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It will continue to feature the tetra prism telephoto lens introduced in last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max. Additionally, Apple plans to increase the battery capacity to 4,676mAh from the previous model’s 4,441mAh, extending the device’s usage time between charges.
