On Monday, former Test captain Inzamam-ul-Haq officially commenced his duties as the chief selector of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The appointment of the 53-year-old, who previously held the role from 2016 to 2019, was suggested by the Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) last week.
Inzamam and the team director Mickey Arthur will select squads for the impending Afghanistan series, Asia Cup, and World Cup. The CTC, led by Misbah-ul-Haq and comprising other cricket veterans like Mohammad Hafeez, is responsible for cricket-related recommendations and will report directly to the head of the PCB Management Committee.
