Investigation team has reached at the blast site early morning on Friday to collect evidence regarding the attack on Senior Superintendent Police officer Farooq Awan.
Inspector General of Police (IG) has set up a committee comprising DIG south and DIG of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Moreover, different law enforcement agencies’ investigative teams also visited the sight of the bomb blast to probe into the incident.
The team collected evidences and also reviewed the damaged vehicles. The wreckage of damaged cars has been shifted to another place to inspect the engine of the vehicle used to carry out the bomb blast.
According to bomb disposal squad (BDS), high explosive materials weighing up to 55 kilograms were used in the bomb. The explosion was carried out through a remote control device planted in a vehicle.
Farooq Awan, had arrested keys suspects of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
