Internet connectivity issues have been reported in various parts of Pakistan and are linked to a critical global submarine cable fault.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has identified the problem in the SMW4 submarine cable, which is integral to Pakistan’s connection to the global internet network. This cable is among seven that facilitate internet access across the nation.

As a result of this fault, internet users in Pakistan may experience slower speeds, particularly during peak usage times. The PTA has informed the public that technical teams are promptly locating and resolving the issue to mitigate the impact on connectivity.

In the meantime, the PTA requests patience from the public and reassures that all efforts are directed towards a quick resolution to restore normal service.
