Under the captaincy of Gerardo Martino, the team struggled without their star player, Messi. It succumbed to the Red Bulls, highlighted by Lewis Morgan’s impressive hat-trick and Winkelman Carmona’s additional goal.
The match’s tone was set early, with Morgan, an ex-Inter Miami player, scoring within the first three minutes, respectfully not celebrating against his former team.
