A drunk Indian traveler on an American Airlines flight from New York to New Delhi urinated on another passenger.
NDTV reported on Saturday that Arya Vohra, a student at a US college, was identified as the suspect and blacklisted by the airline.
As a result of the disruptive passenger, local police met the John F. Kennedy International Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport flight AA292 at the airport.
The airline stated that passengers would no longer be allowed to board their aircraft.
“Upon plane arrival, the Purser reported that the customer was extremely drunk and was disobeying crew directions,” American Airlines stated in a statement obtained by the news agency ANI.
The airline said that he frequently argued with the staff, refused to sit down, and endangered their and the plane’s safety. After disrupting the safety of other travelers, the young man urinated on a passenger seated in 15G.
Before landing, the American Airlines pilot requested protection owing to an angry passenger by calling Delhi ATC. As a result, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was notified to take the necessary measures.
“Once the flight landed, CISF troops removed him from the aircraft, and he misbehaved with CISF personnel,” an airport official informed ANI.
Local Indian media stated that, after taking notice of the occurrence, airport police are taking legal action against the passenger.
“American Airlines has filed a complaint of urination on a fellow passenger against Arya Vohra, a student in the United States and resident of Defence Colony, Delhi. We are pursuing the appropriate legal action, “NDTV cited a senior Delhi Police official as saying.
India’s aviation regulator has also urged the airline to give a comprehensive report. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has received a report from the airline, according to a DGCA representative. According to the DGCA, the airline handled the matter with “professionalism” and performed all required actions.
This is not the first instance of this nature.
In November, a man named Shankar Mishra allegedly urinated on an intoxicated 70-year-old passenger on a flight from New York to New Delhi aboard an Air India aircraft.
The victim wrote to N Chandrasekaran, the head of the Tata Group, which controls Air India, about the occurrence, which sparked a massive uproar because the airline failed to alert the authorities. Later, the Delhi Police arrested Mishra.
