The Senate of Pakistan earlier today was given a briefing about the ongoing operation Zabr-e-Azb, as well as the different gains and losses maid fending off attacks on the motherland. The written reply was presented by the Defence Ministry.
The Senate session was presided over by the Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani where the house was told, 359 Army personnel of different ranks embraced martyrdom fighting terrorists during the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb.
In 2013, India violated the ceasefire along the working boundary and the line of control (LoC) 464 times in which 10 army personnel and 6 citizens were martyred while 24 soldiers and 89 citizens were injured in these attacks.
The Senate was informed that on the 6th of January 2013 one solider embraced martyrdom while one sustained injuries when Indian forces tried to attack a Pakistan Army post in Bagh sector, their attempt was foiled.
In 2014, India violated the ceasefire agreement 315 times along the working boundary and the LoC in which 2 soldiers and 18 citizens were martyred while 24 soldiers and 74 citizens were injured.
In 2015, India violated the ceasefire along the LoC and working boundary 218 times in which 33 citizens and one solider embraced martyrdom while 129 citizens and 16 soldiers were injured.
The Senate was told that 89 percent of Wazirstan and 87 percent of Khyber Agency has been cleared of miscreants.
