Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal struck his maiden One-Day International century to guide India to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the third and final match in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The win secured a 2-1 series comeback for the hosts after losing the preceding Test series.
Chasing a target of 271, India’s chase was anchored by a commanding 155-run opening partnership between Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma. Sharma led the initial charge with a polished 75 before departing. Jaiswal, who played the supporting role early on, accelerated to remain unbeaten on 116, steering the team home with more than 10 overs to spare. Virat Kohli provided the finishing flourish with an unbeaten 65.
The foundation for the win was laid by the bowlers after India, ending a streak of 20 lost ODI tosses, elected to field. South Africa, despite a brisk 106 from Quinton de Kock and a 48 from Temba Bavuma, was bowled out for 270 in the 48th over.

The innings turned decisively when Prasidh Krishna (4/66) returned for a second spell to dismiss Matthew Breetzke, Aiden Markram, and de Kock in quick succession. Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav (4/41) then cleaned up the tail, ensuring South Africa posted their first sub-300 total of the series.
